How many of you can relate to Lindsay? It’s easy to feel like a space should look a certain way, but that doesn’t mean it has to.

Show me that random storefront that made you stop in your tracks, or a picture of a kitchen even though we’re talking about your bedroom.

When we work together, you don’t need to come in with a fully formed vision. My job is to help you untangle what you think a space should be from what you actually like. We’ll go through your inspiration photos, make sense of your Pinterest board, and get a feel for what truly resonates with you. I want to see it all!

From there, anything goes! I shape the design around you - making your space feel personal, intentional, and a spot you never want to leave!

This might ruffle some feathers…but the all-gray-everything era is fading out, and I’m here for it.

I believe a home should be a representation of the people who live inside of it, which means making design choices that match your personality, your style, and the story your home tells.

For me, that’s including more than one color, mixing textures, layering patterns, and creating a space that feels like you, not like everyone else.

If 100 year old walls could speak…they’d probably just laugh and say “surprise!”

My fall camera roll sums it up best - a season that was the perfect blend of busy and still, exciting and calm, chaotic and cozy.

Between construction and installs, a trip to High Point Market, celebrating some of our sweetest friends getting married, soaking up the last of the pre-winter sun, and working on a little secret project behind the scenes 👀 it’s been a good one.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - interior design isn’t just about the pretty things.

Of course, I love the pretty parts of my job, but I also love the behind the scenes logistics, construction plans, installation coordination, and strapping on my own tool belt when I need to!

This week, I’ve been reflecting on all the insight, education, inspiration, and fresh trends from the weekend. Of course, I love exploring the showrooms, testing out all the furniture, and gathering new ideas, but what sticks with me most are the connections and conversations along the way.

This market, we were lucky enough to build new relationships, catch up with old friends, and share moments that remind me why I love this industry so much.

I’ll be thinking about this one for a while!

Day 3 was a blast but we are tired! We danced, ran into a mic’d up @liveandgatherco (stay tuned for our mic’d up meet up), and then scanned, scanned, scanned our favorite finds!

Fall market was definitely a success - now to kick our feet up before heading home tomorrow.

Day ✌🏼- we walked, we snacked, we tried out furniture, we found our favorite hibiscus tea martini (or two), and Dillon served a fit.

The moment you’ve all been waiting for…more @highpointmarket mic’d up moments. Day 1 of fall market in the books, and it was a fun one!

It’s me. Hi. I’m the one opening every box, inspecting every piece, coordinating deliveries, handling damages, warranties, or returns, and yes, sometimes loading it all into my car to get it to your home.

When I handle receiving for my clients, I make sure every item arrives exactly as ordered, in one piece, and fully accounted for - without you ever having to coordinate deliveries, manage complicated logistics, or negotiate with a freight company.

What can I say…as an Interior Designer I love what I love 🤷🏼‍♀️

Some seasons of life call for more than a new paint color.
 They call for real change - the kind that shapes how you live, what you need, and how you want to feel when you walk through the door.

Design and construction have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up tagging along on my dad’s job sites - even on sick days, curled up on someone else’s couch - and I was always drawn to the creativity and hands-on nature of it all.

Over time, I realized that what really excites me is helping others create a home that feels truly, uniquely, theirs. That passion led me to study interior design, and eventually, to start Emerald Studio. It’s such a gift to get to do what I love every day, while still being present for my two little ones, who are already tagging along to my job sites.

Even when I’m not working with clients, I’m still making and creating in some way. Whether it’s crafting on my Cricut, crocheting, or starting a new project around the house just for fun.

Every project I take on is rooted in connection and cultivating a sense of home, and I’m so grateful for the people like you, who trust me to be part of their spaces.

Your pets are always part of the plan.

When we’re designing your home, I’m always thinking about the whole family…your pets included!

Performance fabrics are always a must. They’re woven and treated to handle paws, fur, and everyday life - tested and approved by our guy, Fitz (who doesn’t mind a fabric sample or two brushed over his dark coat).

If you’ve got a shedder, picking upholstery or flooring that blends with their fur keeps you from feeling like you live attached to a vacuum (props if you do, though!).

And for cat parents - looped or hooked weaves? Off the table. Those tiny claws just can’t resist a good “test.”

Emerald Studio 🤝 Designing a home that feels unique to you

Every project is different because every client is different, and that’s the best part. My job isn’t to design my dream home, it’s to design yours.

Which means, I’ll never push my style on you, but I will guide you toward your own - or give you the confidence to step outside the box and into something totally unexpected, if that’s what you want!

I’ll say it louder for the people in the back: get a designer involved early!

Bonus points if it’s before construction 🛠️

Bringing a designer in from the start saves you from costly revisions, design fatigue, keeps your vision front and center, and takes the stress off your plate - so by the time move-in day comes, you’re excited, not exhausted.

Sometimes your builder grade home just needs a little bit of ✨spice✨

It’s no secret, I love color - but I get why it can feel overwhelming.

Color doesn’t have to take over to make your space feel like you. Whether it’s a subtle pop, a wallpaper you’re obsessing over, or drenching a whole room in your favorite shade, we’ll start wherever feels right and go from there!

Let’s clear a few things up…

There are a lot of myths about interior designers floating around- so here’s the truth, straight from us.

Everything a designer picks out is not pricey. Designers have a wide variety of sources to choose from at varying price points. And spoiler alert: I’ve been known to find the perfect piece for clients on Facebook Marketplace!

Designers shouldn’t force their style on clients. We all have our own style, but our job is to understand yours and bring it to life, while giving you the confidence to make bold choices that feel the most like you.

I can’t stress this one enough: hiring a designer is not an unnecessary added expense. In reality, it saves you time (and time is money) and helps you avoid costly mistakes.

And yes, designers should absolutely be involved in construction. The earlier, the better! From space planning and lighting to layouts and budgets - we handle the details that make everything work together seamlessly.

And finally- good design has to work for real life. Kids, pets, all of it. That’s why I start every project with a deep dive into how you live, so it’s not just beautiful, it’s functional too.

99 problems but a designer ain’t one.

Hiring a designer is absolutely an investment, but if you ask me, it’s one that more than pays for itself.

You’re not just getting a design expert - you’re also getting a project manager who narrows the options, coordinates with contractors, and handles the logistics so you don’t have to.

Because let’s be honest, you’ve got enough on your plate already.

Sunroom turned moody? Yes please.

This cozy, laid-back den (that doubles as a music and game room) has officially claimed its spot as the go-to hangout in the house…and honestly, I totally get it!

A kitchen full of hidden surprises? Just the way I like it.

You can never go wrong filling your cabinets and drawers with function.

When it feels like home, it shows up everywhere - especially in the details✨

White ceilings? Don’t know her.

I hardly ever do a white ceiling because ceilings deserve love too! Carrying the wall color onto the ceiling actually makes your space feel more connected, intentional, and honestly…way less boring.

So go ahead! Take that paintbrush all the way up!

This library has everything I love in a room - color, natural light, and so much character & soul. The kind of space I’d happily lose track of time in.

Still mid-construction, but we couldn’t help ourselves - a little living room sneak peek was necessary. We delivered furniture so our clients had something to move into….even if the bathroom’s still getting tiled 🫣
